T-Pain brought the Escape From Wiscansin tour to The Fillmore in Detroit on Tuesday night and he brought Tobi Lou and upcoming artist NandoSTL with him!
Fresh off of signing with Nappy Boy Entertainment and the release of his debut album “Y.O.T.A.”, St. Louis native NandoSTL took the stage first to kick-off the evening. As most people reading this know, your openers on tour are pretty “hit or miss” when it comes to performance, sound quality, and overall reception from the fans. NandoSTL does NOT fall under the “miss” classification of non-headlining performers. While the 31 year old performer is has just picked up traction over that past few years (let’s forget about the COVID years altogether) and just recently signed to his first major label, his stage performance is that of a veteran in the industry. Opening up for the generational legend T-Pain is not something to take lightly and NandoSTL was able to do it like a professional. The fans were all in, moving to music, going along with crowd participation, and keeping the energy through his performance. NandoSTL splash in the industry is about to turn into a wave and shouldn’t be slept on. If you’re heading out to the Escape From Wiscansin tour, get there on time because you won’t want to miss this performance.
After NandoSTL leaves the stage, it’s not long before Tobi Lou takes the stage to precede T-Pain’s headlining performance. The Nigerian-born Chicago native has broke out into the music world in 2015 and his 8 years of experience shows! The uniqueness and personality that Tobi Lou brings to the playing field is what every tour could use and every headliner wants to keep the fans on their toes prior to their arrival to the stage.
With the crowd electrified and bursting with anticipation, it’s time for T-Pain to take his rightful place in the spotlight of Detroit. Hitting the stage in high fashion, T-Pain came loaded with a setlist full of hits, gems, and surprises, as he performed tracks spanning not only his personal solo career but tracks that he’s been featured on, written, and produced. While the Florida native is only 38 years old, he has more credits to his name than most professionals can aquire in a lifetime and he has plenty of years and brain power to keep that momentum going for years to come. This was all portrayed in the evenings unforgettable performance!
Be sure to check out the the remainder of the Escape From Wiscansin tour before it wraps up in Atlanta on July 14th!
