The Dropkick Murphys broke the all-time attendance record for Warren, Ohio’s historic Packard Music Hall on Wednesday night!
The Celtic punk-rock band from Quincy, Massachusetts brought their St Patrick’s Day 2024 Tour through Northeast Ohio, making the stop the only chance to see them between major markets Cleveland and Pittsburgh this year! It’s safe to say that the area showed up, as we ran into fans traveling from all surrounding states to witness the night’s event. With it being the month of March, it’s no surprise that fans packed the venue in green and Irish attire (yes, there were lots of kilts) to show their support for the rock legends, as they graced the the State of Ohio during the month of St Patrick’s Day.
Prior to the bands entrance, the stage simmered with nothing but the light of candles lined along the drum riser and the bright white screen adorning the bands name in their trademark font, being masked by smoke. The band then hit the stage, opening with Worker’s Song, to kick off a night of career-spanning songs that filled the 23-song setlist, that seemed to differ from any other set played on the tour so far!
Frontman Ken Casey hit the stage and played in the faces of the crowd with more energy than most of us at Pit Revolution Press have ever seen. The band had placed a small catwalk at the front of stage with blocks set up on the crowds barrier for Casey and the other band members to get up close and personal with the fans that have been standing for hours to get up close for the show.
The night was capped off with their most popular hit I’m Shipping Up To Boston and fans were left more than pleased with the show that The Scratch, Pennywise, and Dropkick Murphys put on for the Irish holiday season!
